Turn and face the day
Still wrestling with revision, assignemts and all that jazz. Off spring are glorying in wii fit. We just love the ski ing. But we determined that as the weather is so great it was a shame not to go out and do countryside. So off to Chadkirk, to look at ancient woods, drink vimto and enjoy some outdoors sunshiny things.

Fascinate me
Somewhat delayed, but eventually younger sibling got her birthday at home. Last time the celebrant chose the menu, this time the elderly parents opted to go for food we like. So pater did his fabulous food. As we live close to the big bad city we have access to all sorts of lovely things like proper spices, gram flour and proper mango chutney. Being a man who likes the authentic experience he has devoted himself to learning a different sort of cuisine, and here are some of the highlights. He did nice rice, and two sorts of curry. Shown here in the kharahi is a chicken one, quite sweet, not too hot with coconut, very tasty, not shown is the goat curry which has a big African influence and is based on cumin. Also very tasty and quite a bit hotter.

Strange fascinations
So here I am, really trying very hard to make some inroads into professional and organisational issues, a very dreary assignment.
I suspect some of the drudgery is because mentally I've gone beyond this bit, and have 'left' the course somehow. My hours are pretty much done and I've passed the other bits, so there's the portfolio to do and yes this wretched assignment which is taking ages, but then as pater spotted, it will do if I keep ending up at these websites. Ho hum.
Yep nothing soothes the weary student as looking at lovely things and just now its things like this. Never mind one day very soon I can give myself over to this fascination.
He is actually now reading that law book, and the off spring are playing with a passion, which I think is what we all need. Perhaps off to see sheep this afternoon. Might be nice.

Sweet dreams

It's great to see this blocked and finished, it turned out well as a first attempt at lace knitting. The yarn has been fab to use, and now it's done it feels lovely. This is intended for good friend 'Trout' in the hope it cheers her through the tricky months ahead which she is facing. Hope she likes it.

If you want these kind of dreams
At last Friday afternoon, term has ended, mother has a week off and it's bright and lovely weather, bliss.
There's plenty of stuff in the offing for the next week or two, plus the ever present assignment to finish but inbetween whiles these are things that have just finished. A little scarf that I need to block, and a beret that is super soft, merino, alpaca and silk, lovely.
