Pull up the roots

It seems only moments ago that I was posting the 9th brithday party shots for first born. Here we go again.

This year she wanted to have friends around her, and watch a DVD with pizza shipped in and a theme, hence the blur of pink dressing gowns as they all eanjoyed 'Bedtime Stories'. They relished eating pizza in pyjamas and being left mostly alone to get on with a fun evening of laughs. Then the bulk of the guests left and it was time for a 'sleep over' with her two special friends.

Of course it was a rather short night but everyone came through in good spirits and it was a fine way to celebrate.

The very next day the family massed for another 'at home' this time she wanted to emulate 'the hairy bikers' and so poor pater slaved over the fryer to produce fish and chips for twelve. Yes twelve. It was no mean feat seating the lot of them, and as pater's Facebook said, if Jesus and Leonardo had truned up, we would have made a right pretty picture.

I'll give it to someone special

Getting back to school is welcome really, they do miss their friends, and are quite attached to the routines that shape life.
The Christmas break has been pretty welcome, though, time to have a rest and give up on choires and duty for a bit, just chill out (!) and enjoy a different tempo of life. Sweet.

You gave it away.

We are a bit overdue with our Christmas pics, but here we all are celebrating together.
There was lots of family and friends stuff going on. Plus you will note younger sibling's party hat which she made, a fabulous piece of paper construction if ever there was one.
The usual suspects, the usual things to do, lots of fun.

But the very next day

Here we are agin, all covered in snow, currently battling temperature of -17, the kids have had two days of school cancelled, pater had three days off and mother walked for an hour to get to work. Things have settled into the new 'normality' of icy roads and all the stuff that goes with snow fall and antarctica in the city.

We await further snow this weekend, so pater and the offspring are out amking a asledge just now, and all that knitting is making total sense now.
