A sometime blog about what we do, where we go and how we feel about it all. With pictures.

But if you've got a warrant
Despite what the weather man said it has been 'scorchio' this weekend, so the much anticipated launching of the pool has happened. It took a while and the off spring found that the waiting was rather tiresome, as did elderly parents. The air temp may be good but the water remains bracing so they turn blue and goosebumpy pretty quickly, still they seem determined to grin and bare it. Once school mate from down the road spotted it we have been haunted, but it helps pass the time having another person to splash and shout at.
What else have we been up to? Think you can guess we are out in the garden, sadly no weeding or planting is going on, the only concession to lawn maintainence was to let the guinea pigs graze a rather long bit, but it has been very pleasant.

She don't look back
Younger sibling enjoys a dance, and has been attending classes for a little while now, there's a lot of joy to be had from having the right shoes, tap/noisy shoes and ballet pumps. Her leotard is apt to be worn at all times especially when she gets up before the day begins.
There is also the delight in being the person in class who can do 'toes to head' the best too. Wonky hypermobility genes do have their up side then.

There is no place I'm going to.
Here we are, more bikes, more park life, big fancy country park this time. Off spring did some cycling, younger sibling found out about the dangers of tree roots the hard way, ouch!
Beech tree, lovely, we enjoyed being out in the woods again.
Good news this time we took the camping stove and had sausage butties, and the elderly parents enjoyed some cider, that nice stuff from Normandie, it is true, outdoor food tastes best.
You may observe that the summer sky was well up to standard, it was rather chilly and kept raining on and off, but we all had a fab time. Out in the fresh air, with the bikes, camping food and chilling out. Off spring opted for 'hook-a-duck' that olde worlde favourite which has filled our house with plastic items down the years, first born may well be Olympic standard by the time it makes it in.
Good news is they were mighty tired after this outing and we hope soon that the weather will allow a proper camping outing, rather than these little picnic excursions. Also must remember that younger sibling needs a new bike as she is begnning to look like one of those circus chimps on the current hand me down, all knees and frantic pedalling. Not dignified.
