We're jammin'

It's a funny thing that sometimes, the urban hell in which we find ourselves, can seem unfriendly and threatening. Many times, it appears this is true according to how much we are willing to risk ourselves. We find that many of our neighbours like to talk to us and share a bit of their lives, but they need us to invite them first.
Here is our living proof of how lovely community can be. Lovely neighbour two doors away asked us to keep an eye out whilst she was away. On her return she popped along to say thankyou, tell us about her holiday and give the off spring these rather wondrous authentic silk suits from China, where she had visited.
They love their suits, we love our neighbour and are very touched by her kindness. We hope that the people in China who are suffering so much at the moment find they have kind neighbours too.

So slowly.

Time to visit pubs and eat stuff with grandad. Sadly fish was off the menu so we had to content ourselves with a trip to yet more swings at Haigh Hall.
First born appeared to get the hang of how the leg swinging goes to enable mother to stand back and not have to push. Wow. Mother shall now have to find an alternative upper body work out.

Time goes by....

What?! Another Bank holiday weekend? Quick team, off to the park on the bike. Yes we are a bit predictable, but it's cheap and first born gets a bit edgy if we ask about going out and she doesn't get to ride her bike down to the park.
At least they gave the swings a go this time. But then first born got trapped on a hyper spinning whirley round thing and we have to leave the field.

No harm done, other than haunting our local park we have been cycling ( well pater familias has been cycling and camping a bit with bikers with a disability), mother retreated with the nuns and more domestic/ academic/wage slave stuff has gone on.

It only hurts when I laugh

Here we are on bank holiday Monday, I guess that our cultural roots demand we visit a garden centre or sit in a traffic jam, but we opted to cycle to a park and loaf around. Younger sibling is now a two wheel practioner, and we see her sporting her preferred uniform, shorts and casual footwear, her new crocs from Costco, they seem totally right somehow.
She cycled from our house down to the park, which is a fair distance and invovled quite a bit of work, but once there she enjoyed the playground and collecting these rare flower varieties, they match her clogs,
These whizzy round things are highly prized, they just make us elderly parents feel sick, watching them is testing enough. You may notice the urban jungle in the background, quite pleasant for this dirty old town,
These are the serious cyclists in the family, first born got this rather swish bike recently and has become a very committed cyclist, pater familias has been doing twenty miles out into Cheshire 'for fun' and has plans for summer excursions.
Great way to spend a spring afternoon, minimal cost involved, especially as we found we had come out with no money so couldn't buy pop from the shop to revive the weary travellers. Sadly it's back to the grind tomorrow.
